Happy 55th Anniversary, Scooby-Doo! Here’s the time I met former Golden State Warriors GM, Bob Myers, because of the Scoobster.

The tweet below was posted after Klay Thompson had signed with the Dallas Mavericks.

To be fair, this article is mostly about Scoobert Doo; but he prefers to be called Scooby. “He is one-third of a set of triplets: his brother Skippy-Doo is a computer guru & Dooby-Doo is a singer/ entertainer. Scrappy-Doo is Scooby-Doo’s feisty nephew from Scrappy's mother, who is Scooby’s sister, Ruby-Doo.” (ASU)

“Scooby has been translated into 15 languages and has aired in more than 45 countries worldwide. Arabic, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish and Swedish are among the languages Scooby has “spoken” over the decades.

On a calm Halloween night in 2023, my inner-scooby saw who originally looked like a US Open Tennis player from far. It wasn’t. But it wasn’t Shaggy, either. It was the new ESPN analyst, and former Golden State Warriors general manager, Bob Myers, in the streets of New York City.

The splash brothers were still teammates at the time, but we can tell there was something not right with the Warriors. I mean, look how I had my arms crossed. “Ruh Roh: So why DID you leave the Warriors, Bobby?” Scooby can smell it, and Scooby needed to know if Bob could smell something coming, too.

The splash brothers were an iconic brand and duo for 13 years - winning four championships together. Steph & Klay are arguably the two best shooters in NBA history, and Bob Myers was an integral component of why the Warriors value went from 200M to 7.7B. Recently, it was even reported Steph Curry removed “Warriors” from his Instagram bio. Let’s see how the 2024/2025 season unfolds, but similar to the Scooby series, the NBA is always a mystery as well.

Bob Myers did hint towards a possible future where he returns to a front office, potentially. We won’t go into too much detail, but we do appreciate and admire his work - and he’s a fantastic commentator, analyst and TV personality. But we also think he belongs scientifically frankensteining and scaling the next multi-billion dollar NBA franchise. TV can wait!

Scoobert Doo turns 55 years old today. Originally airing on September 13th, 1969, the scooby culture is still strong in 2024. Some personal friends have gen-alpha babies that continue to grow up learning from the Scooby-Spirit. So Happy Birthday to Scooby: created by Joe Ruby and Ken Spears for Hanna-Barbera Productions, the birthplace of “The Flintstones,” “The Jetsons,” “The Yogi Bear Show” and other cartoon favorites.

Happy Bday, Scoobert!
